About the Consultant: Matt

I’m Matt Jelinski, the founder of Mercury Mindset Mental Performance Consulting. I have a master’s degree in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where I focused on applying mental skills to real-world performance.
Mercury Mindset was born from my drive to fuse psychology with human sport and performance. I have always been fascinated by the mental side of performance, what separates someone who has the ability to succeed from someone who is able to consistently perform when it matters most. Through my education, practical experiences, and work with athletes and performers, I’ve seen how much confidence, focus, preparation, communication, and mindset can influence performance.
My approach is simple: mental skills are skills you can learn, practice, and develop.
I work with athletes, performers, exercisers, professionals, and teams to help them better understand how they think, respond, and perform. Whether you’re preparing for a big moment, working through a setback, struggling with consistency, or simply looking to take your performance to the next level, my goal is to give you practical tools that you can actually use.
I don’t believe mental performance is about eliminating pressure, mistakes, or setbacks. You will make mistakes. You will face pressure. You will experience setbacks. The goal is to develop the mental skills to respond to those moments and keep moving forward.

Why Mercury Mindset
Guiding athletes toward their highest potential.
Inspired by Mercury, the Roman messenger god known for speed, communication, adaptability, and guidance, Mercury Mindset reflects the journey of helping athletes navigate challenges with confidence and purpose. The winged sandals associated with Mercury also serve as the inspiration behind the iconic running logo, symbolizing movement, progress, and performance. Just as Mercury connected worlds through communication, this practice helps individuals connect their mindset with their physical performance, empowering them to compete with clarity, resilience, and confidence.
The Mercury Mindset Philosophy
At Mercury Mindset, I believe performance is not fixed. Every athlete, coach, leader, and performer has the ability to grow through intentional mental skills training. My role is to provide the tools, awarness, stratgies, and guidance that helps people continually move towards their highest potential.
